Gear Reducing Industrial Gearboxes from Wilson Machine

Wilson Machine's custom gear reducing industrial gearboxes and come in all shapes and sizes. A recent unit weighed 45 tons. Regardless to size, with suitable maintenance, all gearboxes are constructed to run reliably for years. This requires that all gear parts are manufactured to the tightest tolerances imaginable. Wilson Machine has the equipment to manufacture and test for tolerances down to 0.5 mils or 12.5 microns.

Gearboxes up to 7,000 HP

Wilson Machine designs Gearboxes for single, double, triple or quadruple gear reduction and can go as high as 7,000 HP. They can be parallel shaft or right angle gear reducers or increasers. All gearboxes are made to meet or exceed A.G.M.A. Standards. Some of the design features of our gearboxes are given below.

Stress resistant steel shafts

All shafts are heat-treated alloy steel and are designed to resist stress and deflection. All bearing seats are ground, and seal surfaces are polished. Spherical or tapered roller bearings can be SKF, TIMKEN or other brand names. Life ratings are far in excess of minimum A.G.M.A. specifications or to your requirement.

Heavy Duty Gear Reducer Housing

Our Housings are heavy steel fabricated and welded. All gear reducer housings are thermally stress relieved and sand blasted prior to the machining process. They can be modified for special attachments such as motor pads or lube brackets. Lip seals are standard. Double lip seals, taconite seals or special seals can be installed if you request. Lubrication can be via splash, fan or pump and motor with or without independent system depending on requirements.
